The mission of the Family & Friends Support Council is to:
• promote community engagement
• identify new fundraising resources
• execute events generating funds to facilitate programming that enhances the lives of the individuals served by Rainbow Omega.
The FSC will also work to advance volunteer recruitment to assist with special events.
Nashville to Birmingham: A Toe Tapping Success
The FSC held its first event on Friday, July 19, 2024. Nashville to Birmingham: A Songwriters in the Round Experience featured performances by Dallas Wilson, Trannie Anderson, Jackie Lee, and Andie Albert who sang their hit songs written for Lainey Wilson, Dylan Scott, Mitchell Tenpenny, Larry Fleet, LOCASH, Corey Kent, Alana Springsteen, Gabby Barrett, Dan + Shay, Nate Smith and Cole Swindell.
A stellar auction garnered over twenty thousand dollars, with coveted packages such as: “The Lainey Wilson Experience”, “The Nashville Experience” and “The 30A Couples Getaway”.
Speedy and Greg, from the nationally syndicated Rick & Bubba Show, were emcees for the evening.
The event was co-chaired by Katila Farley and Linda Pimental to provide financial support for Rainbow Omega’a Adaptive Exercise Program taught by Adaptive Fitness Instructor Heather Gruber. Through the success of the event the fitness program has received another year of funding to make it available to everyone served at Rainbow Omega. Heather visits twice weekly to provide structured and individualized exercise programs for those wishing to implement specific activities to reach their fitness goals.
